  • Pretty cool pretty things

    I may be a Metalchik, but that doesn't mean I'm not also a CHICK at heart. And even when I'm schlepping acetylene tanks around lower Manhattan and forging in my studio - never mind strolling the streets of the Diamond District in search of stones - I want to look good!

    Jewelry is my thing and I can usually figure THAT part out, but I can sometimes use help with my other accessories and coordinating my look. Somehow the logger boots that I wear to weld just don't go with my Louis handbag and Dior...

  • Metal Clay is Cool

    When metal clay first came out, I was curious enough to take a few classes. My biggest beef about it, though, was the fact that back then you needed to use a kiln for the burnout process. I do have a kiln, but I had always used it for fused glass, and with glass, I had never needed a pryometer, so I didn't get one when I bought the kiln. But, I soon learned the hard way that with clay, the pyrometer was mega important, unless, of course, you enjoy spending time forming your metal clay creations...
